I don’t know where to start with this one. I’ll be the first to admit that it sounds crazy, but hear me out on this one. I think you’re gonna like it!
Chicken noodle soup is just about everyone’s favorite meal during cold winter days. Well, guess what? It works for dogs too! I decided that since dog treats are my specialty, why not write an article about my all-time favorite dog treat recipe ever: chicken noodle soup for dogs.
Don’t worry; no live animals need to die to make these tasty little snacks. All you need is some organic chicken meat and organic vegetables (carrots, celery, onion, etc.) And of course, you can’t forget your broth, so I decided to use organic chicken broth.
The recipe itself is easy, but it does take about 6-8 hours to complete the whole process, so I do recommend you give yourself enough time before your dog’s big day (i.e. their birthday or any other special occasion).
Step 1: Start by boiling your organic chicken in 2 liters of water. You can even add some cool flavor enhancers like garlic or parsley if you want.
Step 2: Once the meat falls off the bone easily, remove it from the pot and let it cool down a bit on a side plate/bowl. Then pick all the meat off the bones and chop it up into small pieces.
Step 3: Chop up your organic vegetables (carrots, celery, onion) and put them into the pot with 2 liters of chicken broth. Let it simmer for an hour before adding in the chopped-up meat that you picked off the bones earlier. Simmer for another half hour before taking it off the heat.
Step 4: Pour your soup into a container and let it cool down completely in your fridge until ready to use.
Step 5: Cut small squares or circles out of an old sheet/towel/blanket, fill them up with all kinds of dog treats including your organic chicken noodle “soup”, place them on one big cookie sheet under the broiler in your oven at 200 degrees Celsius, let them cook for 2-5 minutes or until they start to brown, take them out and let them cool on a plate so they don’t burn your dog!
Can I give my dog chicken noodle soup?
As long as you follow this recipe, your dog can eat chicken noodle soup just like you.
Is it okay for my dog to be eating the same thing as me?
No! Dogs do not need to eat anything with flavor enhancers or vegetables; only meat and bones. So you must remove all of the vegetables from the pot before feeding them to your dog.
Summary: Yes you can give your dog chicken noodle soup as a treat!
Don’t forget to remove all vegetables from the soup and stick to meat and broth before feeding it to your dog. Both you and your dog will enjoy this tasty recipe, so enjoy!
