First and foremost is that cooking bones make them brittle and therefore much more likely to cause choking (they can actually break teeth!).  The other reason is that cooking makes bones hard and difficult for your pet to digest. Raw bones are soft enough for even the tiniest pets to chew up safely – just remember never to cook raw bones in a microwave because this can make them hard and brittle too.

Also, remember to always feed raw bones on a flat dish or plate – never throw them down on the floor for your pets. Please also note that feeding whole prey items such as mice, birds, fish, etc… should be an integral part of any pet’s diet; not least to provide the teeth with vital exercise and stimulation!
